This route starts at Ternell station, which provides two parking lots, a restaurant, a biology education area, a tourist information point and a shop. In Winter, this is also a starting point for many cross-country ski tracks. Following the way south, you begin on the trail marked by the blue cross on white ground. After a little while, the paved way merges with the "GR573". On the right side, the river "Hill"/"La Helle" flows from Botrange to the city Eupen, where it leads into the "Weser"/"Vesdre". The trail follows the Hill river a few kilometers. This area is full of small runlets that origin from the fen area of the "High Fen"/"Hohes Venn". The paved way changes into a dirt track, so be prepared to step through some deeper puddles or muddy areas. Eventually, the track merges with a paved way, that soon crosses another brook leading into the hill. At this point, the trail leaves the marked way and moves across a fern field to take a shortcut. Follow the track through the field running parallel to the brook. After a kilometer, the track merges again with another paved way. From now on, the trails follows this paved way back to Ternell station. A ranger cabin allows for some rest at around 3 kilometers to Ternell. Here one can hold on for some moments, enjoying the quietness and of the nature. You can sit down on a wooden bench or below the groves of beech or chestnut trees.
