Photos de randonnées avec activités en pleine nature dans la Jedediah Smith Wilderness

Did this hike for my 3rd time yesterday (Nov. 12, 2019). Probably the last chance before more snow and colder temps come in. We brought snowshoes but ended up not needing them since the trail was hard packed snow. But I highly recommend good snow boots and crampons for the top section. The top ridge was super windy, probably a wind chill of 10 degrees. 3-4 feet of snow at the top, which will wear out your energy quickly. Made it to the top in 4 hrs, and took 2 1/2 hrs to come back down (we took Face trail both up and down). I’ve done the Huckleberry route before, but I prefer using Face to descend, saves you tons of time and avoids stream crossings! As long as you have trekking poles and good boots then you’ll be fine going down Face. If you’re really daring, you can even ski down the top half of the trail!
