Photos de randonnées avec activités en pleine nature dans la Mount Toby State Forest

The trail is fantastic. Most notable is the blue blaze trail that leads to the caves. Way cooler than the summit. The cave if truly explored with a head lamp has many caverns and recesses. I even saw a bear deep in a crevasse towards the far side. It was in hibernation and had no interest in interacting with humans. All I could see was a small patch of black hair and a reflective eyeball. Be prepared for a moist environment. Lastly, and most importantly, if you approach this trail head from the east and see a sign that says “road not maintained in winter”, heed the warning! My car almost went ever the edge and down a mountainside. It’s a sheet of ice and I slid down over a hundred feet sideways and backwards and by some miracle didn’t crash. You’ve been warned. Approach from the West in winter.
