Photos de randonnées avec activités en pleine nature dans la O'Melveny Park

The descriptions here must be from BEFORE the fire in 2019. Because there are going to be not many wildflowers from what I saw on this trail yesterday 1/22/20. Almost all sage is burnt to a char. It’s grass and nonnative weeds, looks to me. And of course ice plant survived...Saw only a handful of lupin germinating. It looks like a moonscape in areas. I guess if that is what you like... And yes it’s still very windy. That’s the norm in northern SFV. The trees on top survived, so there is a reward there. But this is a hike for people who like to “feel the burn”. It will take a long time and a lot of work to bring this park back to its former beauty. The trail is almost hardpack now, there is a layer coating the trail from fire. There are deep ruts in much of trail but not nearly as sandy as in past years. Expect next year to be quite sandy and difficult coming downhill.
