Great trail! Took the dogs so it nicely tired them out, wonderful views from both Rose berry topping and Captain Cooks Monument.

This is a nice little trail with hills rising around on every side. It was very quiet and peaceful. There is a small car park, several picnic tables and a bin for litter at the start of the trail. Half of the trail is up and then down a slope, and the path consists of steps cut into the hillside. It was a bit hard on the knees but it’s possible to walk the first part of the trail and then back again for a walk that’s completely flat (and paved) and about one mile total.

Nice walk but very muddy in parts. The bridge under the rail track was very flooded so we scrambled up the bank and pegged it across the tracks and scrambled down the other side

muddy but good 6k loop from western road

Wonderful walk with lots of interest along the first half. Coming back on the canal is a little boring but ideal if you've had a good lunch in New Mills. If I did it again I would do a figure if eight half way. Be aware the bridge across Goyte after New Mills is out of action. Great little cafe in New Mills called Gioia Mia that will cater to all tastes.

Great hike, last 7/8 km not as special but the first part was outstanding.

Did this route yesterday. the weather was harsh. high winds and sideways rain/ hail. the route is very challenging in parts with some scrambling and climbing. make sure you take plenty to eat and drink. we ended up taking a slightly longer route which came in at 17k.

The trail was nice for the first and last sections. In the middle was all road walking, quiet lanes but still didn’t feel comfortable as we had our dog and two young children. The route was very muddy the whole way which was fun for the kids. We saw lamas, deer, horses and sheep on the walk. We loved seeing Roydon hall but cannot believe this has just been left to rot, as is a nearby cottage, very sad to see. Overall a good day out but not our favourite.

Mam Tor can be a bit busy by the time you get there, but all in all a great lap.

Tough initial section but worth it for the views.

Lovely walk with our 1 year old in a rucksack. Nice trails along field boundaries, past the castle and above the train museum below where we could hear the steam engines tooting away.

Never did I expect it to be so good, we couldn’t stop saying wow and taking 100s of photos! It was very muddy and rocky but we don’t like simple we love a good challenge so we enjoyed that the most! if my 70 year old Nannie can do it anyone can! What a fabulous day we have had and I can’t wait to return in the summer! the waterfall was just something else I could of spent my whole life there.

Muddy but OK considering time of year. No actual geocahes on route though you can do a couple with a short detour. There are lots to the south. Need a route there!

not my usual type of walk but need somewhere dry as my boots havnt arrived and mine are split. so decided to walk around my local city. some interesting things to look at that I knew were there but never really paid much attention to. I'm not going to rush out to walk it again but it's worth walking once.

Great route. All on our own doorstep too. It was quite easy going until the Kelmarsh to Maidwell section where it wasn’t so easy. Great walk and loved it!
