Amazing hike overall. Definitely the right choice to start from El Pilar. The trail up to Poincenot entails a nice forest and we got to see rabbits and woodpeckers. Great viewpoints and with clear view of Fitz Roy and the surprisingly beautiful Glaciar Piedras Blancas. After that, the uphill walk to Laguna de los tres is straightforward, a bit demanding but I saw people out of shape doing it. Once at Laguna de Los tres there are small uphill trails with great view to Laguna Sucia which is amazing! On the way back you have a great view of Fits Roy on your back and then I recommend you get a small rest at Laguna Capri.

Two hours to get to the lookout and an hour to go down. The entire trial is on a steep slope with just a few flat parts. The view at the lookout is outstanding. No shelters at the top

I’d recommend this trail to anyone looking for an alternative to the highly trafficked trails in town. Provides 360 views inc Fitzroy and Cerro Torre (providing it isn’t cloudy). Lovely hike with gradual incline until last 1km which is a good challenge up to the summit.

This trail has no switch backs, so it is EXTREMELY steep the ENTIRE way except one part that is very muddy and hard to get through. I cannot stress the straight up no break steepness more. Our knees were dead at the end. However, the views are absolutely incredible. I would only recommend this for intense hikers.

Fine, if you want to save some bucks and not do the cableway (500 pesos). Bit slippery with sand on stones at steep parts, No views until you reach the top.

Amazing trail in the foothills of Aconcagua! This trail starts off on private property, and then leads into the mountains. We were able to park at the end of the road by speaking to some of the farmhands that were working as we pulled up. There’s not really any shade but the weather does frequently change during the hike. The trail has many branches in parts, but they all join back together. At one point you can climb up and right to go to a bell that’s perched up on a cliff ledge. A local gaucho told us if we had gone straight, there were waterfalls another 2 hours up the trail.

This is a great moderate trail to do in El Chalten. Many reviews say it is challenging, but ultimately depends on your experience. We trail run in the Canadian Rockies on more challenging terrain so would not consider this hard. The biggest challenge was the fact that it was quite busy, full of people with limited gear and experience. The park staff say it takes 8 hours but we did it in about 4.5 hours in the peak time of the afternoon.

Amazing Views, super remote. Just know the "trail" is true Marsh/Tundra which means spongey, swallows shoes, etc. I had a hard time navigating this, and was off "trail" often. Not for the faint hearted. Running will take 8-14 hours for the experienced trail runner

One of the most impressive alpine hikes I’ve been on. Stunning views of snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, ledges and more. Saw two condors! There were times the trail could be a little busy for my taste and the refugio was crowded, but for the most part I had space to enjoy the environment. Hiked on a Friday in January - would probably avoid weekends in high season for this reason, but the quality of trail, climate and landscape were unbeatable!

This was a steady rise for 3000 feet (2000+ meters). Great views, only a few muddy spots, a few cow patties, not much rock scramble. We stoped at the view of the lake. The trail continues up 600 more feet in elevation, but the wind and rain were too much. We had 50-60 mph gusts.

Beautiful hike! 16miles roundtrip from our hotel with the well worth addition to the glacier lookout! Mostly flat with a few inclines. Trail is muddy in places but generally able to navigate around.

A beautiful hike. Far less demanding than the Lago de los Tres but equally beautiful.

Amazing hike. Took us 6.2 miles to make it to the lake so roundtrip was closer to 13. Slightly muddy and wet in areas but otherwise ideal conditions!

This is at the same time one of the most amazingly beautiful hikes in this planet and yet a tough and physically demanding one. Do not underestimate it.

One of my favorite hikes. Forested trail with Lengas, dog ear orchids, and ferns, interspersed with breathtakingly clear coves and views of snow capped mountains.
