Easy hike for young families! Use the app to track where you are as there are quite a few trails and it’s easy to be unsure of which way to go. We enjoyed this little sweet state park and the beautiful old growth trees along the trail.

Wonderful little park with a few miles of hiking trails on a forested hillside. The park is split in half due to a large flood in 2005 that took out a bridge connecting both sides. The main hiking trails are just off highway 6. There are spots to park along both sides of the highway and the trails are on the opposite side of the river. The main day-use and camping area are on the other side of the park. Signs on highway 6 will direct you to this side. There is a small trail on this side that follows the Chehalis river. You can also access the 56 mile Willapa Hills trail for hiking, biking, or horseback riding from this side of the park.

Trails are not clearly marked so I couldn’t tell if I was hiking or playing in a park. Very disappointed.

Sasha gave most of the important information about this hike. I've uploaded a picture of the park map so that others can see what she's talking about. The bridge going over the river does not exist. As for the trail, it's a pretty nice one. I saw no other hikers on the trail and even some of the trails had fallen trees and broken foot-bridges. This is something that I actually find charming. It's nice to hike on a trail that doesn't see much use. The small creeks that criss-cross the trails are pretty cool, too.

Beware, there are trails across from the park and the bridge to cross over is non-existent. You have to cross over the highway to get to the trails. When you do get to the trails, you'll see that there are actually three little trails so the miles stated are for the combined trails. Aside from having to park on the highway after finding out at the bridge was no longer there, it was an okay, short and easy hike. But not something I'd travel again to do.
