Old Pipeline Bed Trail

I hiked this with 3 fellow mamas and our pack of 10 kids. We enjoyed it so much! The trail has lots of spots for kids to explore and climb. When we finished the hike we ate lunch down on the sandy beach and the kids played in the water. While we were eating, a bear cub came out of the woods on the other side and hung out by the river. We knew his mama must be close by, so we cleared out fairly quickly, even though it was so amazing to see a bear in the wild. To fellow hikers, be aware that there is a bear cub (with a mama we assume) in the area.

While the trail follows the river, the river is not in view at all times so while there are moments of great views it's not the most scenic hike over all. It's a good family hike and the kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks. The best part of the hike was we went down to the water in one area so the kids could play in the water. There is a great swimming area right near the parking lot. The bathrooms are apparently not being maintained right now and were revolting so plan ahead.

The trail was very scenic. Most of the trail has plenty of space to pass or pull off to let people go by and maintain a reasonable distance. The trail follows the river which is beautiful. It is a little cooler which is nice if it hot outside. Great walk/hike. A few spots you have to navigate a bed of rocks but easy enough for all skill levels.

This was a great hike! Easy for our 7 year old! The scenery was beautiful and the river was amazing!!!

Easy for kiddo and a prego wifey water was great for swimming

We hiked this in the middle of an August day in 100 degree weather, and it was fantastic! It was busy, but not so much it interfered with our enjoyment. My 4 lb dog handled it, so that shows how easy it was.

Pretty trail. It wasn’t crowded at all mid-week. You can here road noise the entire hike but the scenery is great.

Easy hike for the most part. A couple of spots that could be difficult for some. Like narrow and steep paths and rocky areas. The hike is not too interesting but there are great swimming spots and photo ops

great easy hike! Very kid friendly. No fee nor discovery pass needed. they do have restrooms available, BUT i would highly suggest using the restroom prior to arriving here. we arrived at about 8:20 and there were 2 other cars there. by the time left at 10ish there was a lot more people. you can hang out down by the rocks right after you pass the bridge. there are some spots that you can hang out at and put your feet in the water. beware of the bees

Great trail for quick hike- go early! Arrived at 8:20. Passed 4 others. In return parking lot was full- about 25 ppl! Trail is dusty, some rocks/scrambling. So easy for hikers, but not easy-easy perhaps for others. Trail very narrow at end. Great sandy beach at .75m. So pretty. Great for a quick morning hike!

Great trail! Saw a bear walk under us while we were on the bridge!

Nice trail for beginners, a little rocky but nothing to bad. Super fun and family friendly.

Awesome trail for all ages. Not too steep but enough to keep things interesting. Lots of turn off points to climb and explore. I totally recommend this if you are looking for a nice short but excellent trail!

This trail was awesome we did it last week with my 2 little ones we did use hiking carriers for them bc it does get a bit rocky crossing over a little stream and a fallen tree once you get to the end it’s not a huge beaten path so we just turned around but did find a natural beach the water was freezing tho

took this trail and had a great time with it, if you go a little off trail at a couple points you can find a cave.

We arrived a little after 9am and the parking lot was nearly full, however it was a nice hike and not too crowded. The trail is mostly flat except for some off trail scramble spots down to the river. There is a little creek crossing that may result in wet shoes or muddy paws if you aren't careful. Nice easy hike for the family and will definitely be back.

We had an absolutely great time on this trail. We even trailed off the path, climbed down some rocks, and went swimming in the icy river. We saw families wearing masks and dogs on leashes while we hiked. We would definitely return to this trail again.

I was looking for a recovery hike that was easy and close by. This trail fit the bill and more. I got to the parking area around 845 and only a few cars were there. By the time I got finished the lot was full. But it's a quick hike so a spot will be quick to open. Tons of river and rock scenery and very easy to do. There were a lot of rocks on the ground to trip on, so watch your step.

Kid friendly and lots of rocks for the them to climb on. You’ll want to come early to avoid the crowds. Very beautiful and scenic.

A great walk to start off the hiking season or to close it. A beautiful walk along the river. The bridge can be very wet in the spring.

Great trail, our five year old was able to walk, three year old rode in a pack. There is one spot with a rock scramble and you cross the creek. I recommend wearing water friendly shoes! Trekking poles would be helpful for anyone a little less sturdy who needs the extra balance. Get there earlier in the day if you can, it was getting busy when we left around noon.

Fun trail, easy walk. The cement wall with the boulders seems to be the end of the trail, but if you continue, there is a trail that goes up the hill then starts to fade.

Good short flat trail! A couple blowdowns, but the trail is mostly in good condition until the final .2 miles. Some good swimming spots if you work your way down to the river, and pretty views on a nice day.
