One of my favorite trail runs in Long Hunter.

Nothing too exciting. Very long and flat without much of a change of scenery. Great for trail running or a quick hike.

Nice longish out and back but mostly flat. Some views and noise from the lake in the summer. Excited to find prickly pear and some interesting geology. Mostly forested but some exposed sections. Encountered less than a dozen people on trail. Saw some deer and black vultures. Swimming area at the end of the trail was crowded, long wait for bathrooms. Approached by a creep while eating alone at the picnic tables. Packed up and left.

Second time doing this trail. Wouldn't have done it again, but my lady had never done it. This trail is more for running than hiking IMHO. It is my least favorite trail of all because it is bland and featureless and should only be hiked in pairs with one person parking at each end to avoid having to walk it back. I really feel like this trail is just there to use the space between the two park areas. I ran into multiple walkers who were headed back to my starting point because they figured out it was a waste of time. The worst part of this trail existing is that it is the last trail on the 26+ mile mega hike and you end up doing it in the dark with nothing for entertainment but your own exhaustion.

Decent trail, flat. Easy, not great view of the lake. Volunteer trail is better.

Easy to navigate. Long and flat with many views of the lake and cedar glades. Several deer and rabbit sightings

Pretty easy, just be prepared if you go in the middle of summer on a sunny day, bring plenty of water and snacks if you need them.

So flat. And so many spider webs - but no street noise - yay! And the Cedar Glade is really beautiful. A few deer along the way too. And nice views of the lake. Out and back makes for a long stroll if you need to put in some miles. Love Long Hunter SP!

Lovely flat natural surface trail. Nice views of the lake, many wildflowers in bloom. Moderately shady for a July hike with occasional openings into a sunny cedar glade like area, then back to the shade. Peaceful. saw deer, a raccoon, birds and butterflies too.

Boring and flat. We use it for "training" for long hikes out of the country.

Good, easy, pretty much flat walk for a five year old and myself. Saw a rat snake. Almost stepped on it.

We live near here so we do this trail quite often, but I was severely disappointed at the amount of litter on the trail I understand that the heavy rains washed out a good portion of the trail and left tons of plastic bottles, old coolers, and general garbage on the trail. It's sad to see these trails in such bad shape.

most of the trail is still under water. We will be back when the water recides

Nice, flat trail for a decently long hike close to the city. Not really much scenery or views of the lake but there are a few small streams and the area seems nice. Would honestly be a pretty cool bike trail but no bikes and no pets allowed. The trailhead is also right beside a small playground and a wide view of the lake which gives more options for families.

I really enjoy the great views and proximity to the water along parts of the trail.

Nice trail with plenty of deep wooded features. If you are a nature lover you will love this trail. Lots of wildlife along the way, today.

Not much to see, minus the few lakeside vistas. I’d rate the trail as “easy” overall. Fairly flat out and back, well maintained, GPS watch found trail length at 7.8 miles total. I arrived at 8:30 on a sunny Sunday morning expecting many others. I didn’t see another on the trail until 11am, so it’s lightly travelled. Nice proximity to Nashville and do something different. Regular jet aircraft and boat noise heard on the trail. Real good trail running training route.

trail was good, well marked. I was hoping for more lake views along the way only saw the lake like 3 times.. it's mostly forest and it's pretty thick between you and the lake. for being closer to town is a great choice for the limited Nashville area

This is a pretty trail with nice meadows and wooded sections and a good view of the lake. You can hear the boats on the lake very loudly though, which I found disruptive.

Drove over here today to ride my bike since Altrails says it's an option, but the last item on the trail head sign clearly states "No Bikes". :(

No pets policy is stupid. It’s the outdoors, not a hospital or restaurant.

No elevation, but love diversity of terrain from lake to cedar forest to rock outcrops to the glades (with Prickly Pear Cactus) to grasslands and more!!

really boring and not much to see

Pretty much a boring there and back. There wasn't much to look at, excepting the flowers I uploaded. Maybe it's better in the evening or a different season, but I left this trail wishing I'd brought a friend to park at the other end. Conveniently enough, that is the only way I do this one again. Might be some good fishing about 2.5 miles in, just past the Scouts project location.
