The trail was truly fun- it definitely had some vertical-gain challenges however, they were fairly shortly in duration compared to other trails I’ve experienced; I would classify this trail a moderate-high difficulty. The climb itself is actually fairly short compared to the “off-road” drive in; I did it in a two-wheel drive Chevrolet Uplander so it is doable. Also the very last 0.1-0.2 miles [drive] to the trail head is on road (hwy) 250 (as specified in the description), however be cognizant that that the branch off (left turn) is marked by marker stones, and a very subtle sign. The trail is clearly delineated but overgrown for the first 1+ mile. After that, the snow starts, but if you use the All Trail app, you will easily remain on trail. I highly recommend long sleeves/ pants for the first 1+mile due to the foliage growth. There were amazing signs of wildlife in the snow today: bear, deer, goat, rabbit and more, though I only saw small rodents/birds. A super fun drive-in and hike~ start early to account for the drive. Also the trailhead parking lot can take 4+ vehicles if everybody parks civilly, the bridge is still out which means there are two stream/river crossings at the beginning of the hike (both have fallen trees to walk across). Besides the little bit of overgrowth, the trail was really well kept.
