It has been reported that part of this path is closed and you will have to travel along the road shoulder for a portion if you are looking to complete the entire hike.

Very very very icy! I had to turn back a few times

Pretty easy, but that was expected. What was not expected was that half the trail was closed off. We were told it will be closed for about 2 years. Not sure how accurate that is but this past weekend we had to create an alternate path to get the hike in. Also, be prepared to walk along the highway for a little bit. You're basically walking on the shoulder at one point. We hustled through; we didn't think that was enjoyable or exactly safe if a car flew off the road.

Great trail. Awesome views! Easy to hike. We have done this trail 3 times, although not it’s entirety. But planning on doing complete trail. Pack a lunch and relax and enjoy the views. A must hike for any level. ENJOY!!

I entered the trail near GWB. It is strange as the trail sits from between the loud, fast-paced highway and the quiet, scenic views of Upper Manhattan. It might not be your cup of tea if you want to feel removed from civilization temporarily. I do not mind it as it is an easy trail.

Scenic, cliff side views, maintained, parts are hard to connect so follow the map and sometimes you have to go along the road/highway. For the area it’s great.

I got to this trail from walking over the GW bridge from manhattan. It’s a bit confusing from there...from the south side walkway after crossing, turn right and go under the overpass, and a little bit until you reach a sign that says the north GW pathway is closed and stairs. That’s actually the long trail, follow the stairs up and to the left, then the aqua/teal blazes. At Alison park you lose the blazes and actually have to go on road for a few mins, past the bathrooms etc and then towards the left. You’ll pass a residential house then what I think was a medical type center with a Saint’s name. Trail picks up right around there to the left side of the road. Also note, went today (2/3/19) and it was SUPER muddy.

It’s all alongside the highway, if you were able to see the view more it would be nice. The coolest part about the hike was that I ran into a snake

it barely splits off from the road. it's hard to enjoy a hike when you can see and hear the traffic only a dozen or so feet away from you. if that bothers you, you may not enjoy it. however, there were a couple of good views.

nice path and some good views. A little too close to highway, would have been nice if trail ran along ledge.

I was directed to park at the Fort Lee historical museum. I did not see signs to the Long Trail from where I parked.

It is best to use this trail during the week as opposed to the weekends because it will get crowded quickly. Overall it's a lovely trail!

Long hike, but one can break it at any time. The views are beautiful, once you are up and hike on the cliffs.
