Visited this trail for the sole purpose of Mountain Biking. It did not disappoint. My wife and I went during a rainy day so the trail was a bit muddy and would become slick in certain areas. Lots of hills and great obstacles for beginner/intermediate level rider.

Nice trail. Well maintained. Saw maybe 30 bike riders and or people on horseback the entire hike. Elevation changes are nominal. Just the length of the trail is what wore me out towards the end. Two creek crossings. One is minor. The second is a knee deep crossing. Moderate current. Trail was 99% clear of fallen trees. As many horses use the trail, just had to keep an eye out for horse land mines. Trail is pretty well marked and easy to follow. Only needed the app at a few parking lot junctions. Hiked it in approx 4 hours. Will definitely hike it again and or bike it.

Great trail. The track on the map takes a slightly different route than the new route taken on the trail, but it's pretty close. I'll try to upload a correct track next time I ride this route.

Very nice trail! There are a number of trails in this area that crisscross, the trail is adequately marked with orange arrows on the metal forest service signs that are about 3 inches wide and 4 feet tall. Need to watch for them! The trail has been rerouted somewhat on the counterclockwise side. The trailhead is at the back left side of the parking area. Starts between a fence and The rooftop signboard. About 10 or 15 yards in the clockwise trail goes straight and the counterclockwise goes right, marked with Orange arrow on forest service sign.

Trail was easy to find. The porta potty had a sign on it that said due to lack of donation they are unable to keep up with the maintenance. Started walking the trail, and it was very pleasant, but NOT clearly marked. There are no trees marked in between trail markers and it is very easy to end up off course. We ended up miles off the loop turning a 9 mile loop into a 13.5 mile hike before we finally called forestry because we were running out of light.

The trailhead location is accurate on this site and easy to find. It has a detailed map, parking and even a porta-potty. The trails have a good mix of downhill sections, climbs and flowy single track. There is probably 50miles of riding out there. I like to think I'm in good shape but haven't been on my bike in a long time. Even riding a heavier bike (trek remedy 8) I was able to ride continuously and had a good time. I will definitely return and met some locals who say they ride there nearly every weekend without getting bored of it.

Great Autumn hike. The Jake Mountain Trail Loop has moderate downhills and uphills. Nothing too strenuous. We encounters two Jones Creeks crossings, One was mid shin (we removed our hiking boots to cross) and the other we used rocks to cross.

Trail well maintained overall. Had 2 spots where there were downed trees that required carrying the bikes over. Both looked quite newly fallen. It's not as technical from a root and bump perspective as what we have in south Florida, but it's much more challenging in the cardio aspect. Definitely a lot of climbing, so if you're not in top shape, you'll likely be pushing the bikes up the hill at some points like we did. However, the downhills were awesome. The second creek crossing (going clockwise) is quite deep, so unless you plan to carry the bike, be sure to switch into a real granny gear to get through and climb out other side. If you're not familiar with this trail system, be sure to look at the maps for the corresponding letters to the route you want. We didn't do so, resulting in a roughly 1 mile detour onto the Beaver Pond trail before we realized and had to back track. Overall a great trail that was a lot of fun.

Not too strenuous. Did not see much wildlife but evidence of bears everywhere--watch your step!

Trail Run: ran in clockwise direction - very nice trail, well maintained. Has some good elevation changes (ups & downs), generally less strenuous than Bull Mountain climbs. 2 wide creek crossings, didn't see a way to keep from getting wet, but only knee deep. Will definitely do this trail again. Makes me want to get back up there for some mtb'ing. Two things to note about the trail: 1. Alltrails lists it as 7.6 miles, it is actually 10 - when following the Orange blazes. 2. The location of the trailhead is way off in the map on Alltrails. It is not located on Black Mountain Rd, it is off 52 on Nimblewill Church Rd - just west of Dahlonega.

Great mountain trail! Ran in fall, covered with leaves but had a blast. Started on Bare Hare in counterclockwise direction, connected to Bull Mtn trail about half way around. Be ready for climbing, elevation profile is basically uphill 6 miles, then downhill 6 miles. Has a bit of everything, rocks, roots, single track, FS road, and several creeks. Now to try Jake...

I loved the trail. I did it in late November and it was beautiful. Plan some time and enjoy the little creeks and cool downhill rides. The Bull Mountain loop is not for beginners but is also not super advanced. The pin head is on the wrong spot, actually pretty far away. It took me 40 minutes to find the trailhead. Hear are the directions: In Dahlonega, take GA52 West. Turn right on Nimblewill Church Rd....proceed 3-4 miles. Next, turn right on FS 28,(gravel rd.) continue on this for .4 miles. Make your first left on FS 83. It's 1.8 miles to the trailhead

Not the little 3-minute hills at your grandmother's, but long sustained climbs. A course that will put hair on your chest. Zero cell coverage, so beware.

Great MTB trail. In all fairness I only did half the trails because I was running out of light but enjoyed every bit of it. This is part of the Bull Mountian/Jake Mountain trail system. Get a map before you go and look out for horses and stop so you don't spook them. Despite the mess they leave behind the riders are polite and will help you if you get turned around. Park at the Jake Mountain parking area. Don't follow the signs for Bull Mountain connector unless you want to get a 20 mile ride in.

Great trails for horses. Get them in shape before you go though, some are rough but well worth it. Beautiful views, great primitive camping by the creeks.
