This trail is steep but generally well-shaded through the Flatirons. Single track trail except for brief old roadbed near top of Gregory Canyon Trail. There are rocky steps on both Flagstaff and Gregory Canyon portions of the trail. Open to dogs but closed to bikes. Note parking adjacent to the loop requires a fee unless vehicle registered in Boulder County. Offline map is recommended. Users have reported that it is easy to take a wrong turn on the trail.

Would recommend having spikes. Also, many road crossings which is a bit much at times.

Lovely trail. Was super windy most of the hike. Brought my spikes but didn’t really need them. There were a few icy spots but 90% of the trail is clear.

Great hike today, the dogs loved it! Beautiful views, do bring along micro spikes, they are a necessity! Loved this trail would definitely recommend!

Pretty quick incline. Don't go past the wooden barricade someone built at the beginning of the trail. Went past it and did some pretty steep and unnecessary climbing. LOTS of stairs/steps on the decline. If you have bad knees, wouldn't recommend. A lot of the trail is by the road making for a pretty boring hike. Nice views at the top though.

I’ve always started this hike up the Flagstaff Trail and that is a really good climb. The views on the ridge before you get to Gregory Canyon are amazing on a clear day. I personally find parts of Gregory Canton very challenging, I’m thinking about that one rock that you basically have to scoot down without looking to your right into the canyon. I love this hike and do it about once a week.

Great trail! I did get a bit confused but this was my first long hike by myself. The app was great at helping me keep on track. However I did get a bit lost finding my way back to Flagstaff Rd. Luckily I ran into an awesome older man named Erik that helped me find my way. I just had to cross the street. It was a great hike and I recommend it even for first timers.
