I did this hike as part of a circular from Robin Hood's Bay which I joined after hiking along the Cleveland Way and heading back along the beach. A steep descent albeit with various steps and paths. The main reason people visit is to see the large seal colony which is around 300 strong. We also had the pleasure of seeing pups of all ages. Please read and respect the signs and don't go near and disturb the seals. Keep children and dogs under control! Overall a great spot to view the wildlife.
