easy access, and good views away from it all. only downside is that horse shoes have carved the pathway up so you have to be constantly looking down rather than appreciate the setting.

An awesome trail with fantastic views. very quiet.

Great trail. Mix of walking along the river and florest.

Nice route through the Bowood estate. I went the opposite way round to on the map. I was running and wearing trail shoes feel like you could just wear normal running trainers as a lot of it is paved or tarmac paths. Some muddy trails but not too bad. Nice by the lake and house.

What a lovely scenic walk and the golden pub was great for a pint after

A truly lovely walk along the river around the town. Definitely not one to be rushed. Although it was very muddy under foot at times, it was still beautiful and one that I would recommend. What a wonderful place to live and visit. I’ll definitely be back.

This is one of the best walks I've been on in this area so far, felt at times like you were in the Yorkshire hills with all the rocks and stones, beautiful views...very windy but invigorating

Lovely walk-be careful to cross the river at the right place! The birdsong was fantastic. Leave plenty of time for Old Sarum and I enjoyed seeing the quieter streets of Salisbury

Parts of the walk was quite nice, I.e., through old parts of town, riverside, around cathedral. There was a bit on the side of an A road coming into town that wasn’t so good. I’d say about half of the loop was interesting.

Had a lovely walk, fantastic views and good paths.

A good trail and relatively okay underfoot for this time of year. A good hike to the top, was a bit muddy going down, but with good walking shoes it's not too bad.

Great, easy walk, also brilliant as an off-lead walk as no cattle/roads to negotiate. Took us circa two hours at a leisurely pace.

A little too residential in parts and we extended the walk to take in the Cathedral.

Varied a little from the map, as I do this route quite often! A steady climb to the tip of the white horse, and the n around the the path at the back of it and down the hill. There's a footpath (muddy!) through the top of the village and into stradbrook where I picked up the trail again. I would have mapped the whole route but the GPS gave up on me twice! But a good walk

Very muddy! but overall great route! Only down side for me for some reason this app drains my battery, had to stop when my phone got to 5%, luckily I was also using Strava on my Samsung galaxy watch active to track the hike.

very nice walk, a bit muddy due to the adverse recent weather conditions

It's nearly 10 miles walking but recommended.

A good walk through pleasant landscape taking in 2 scenic riverside sections. Walk taken in the winter when the ground was rather wet but still accessible with correct footwear

So cool!

Following Harrys shorter walk in the review I took short cuts too as wanted an hour or 2 walk maximum. I parked in the lay by opposite the windmill, went and looked around the mill. Then walked down the road and hill into the village. The turning to go off along the lake and canal is a bit hidden after the pub opposite the pond. Beautiful area, some pigs, horses and a donkey on our route.

Fantastic walk to blow sway the cobwebs. I parked by the pub but if you go further down the track there is parking for about 4-5 cars, there were only two there today mid Saturday morning so it doesn’t look like it gets too busy, we only passed a handful of people throughout the walk. Lovely walk, hilly in parts which can be muddy. The bridal path is well used, a couple of riders passed us going up. It also looks like some kind of a tractor goes up there regularly as the path is a little churned up so I’d suggest boots / wellies. I was fine with my walking boots. Near the top it’s fairly exposed and windy but the views are brilliant. You also walk through a gated field of sheep which is where I discovered my pup likes to eat sheep poo so an interesting five minutes shall we say, glad I had her short lead with me. The wood is beautiful with what looks like several paths leading off from the main route but I couldn’t see these on the map. The road is well maintained in most parts, I’d say about 5 cars passed us in total, most appeared to be dog walkers going to parking up their car, plenty of space to get onto the verges to let them past. A lovely walk, id’d highly recommended, though I’d be cautious after heavy rain and be prepared.

Lovely walk, the part through Bowood itself was obviously much more picturesque than the other half but still a pleasant walk all round. Mostly flat and it had a variety of terrain that kept small people interested!

Great walk. Lovely views and a beautiful area to explore. Quite muddy in places given all the rain we’ve had! Yes it does have a length on the road but it wasn’t busy and does a nice view :)

we had an issue with navigation. which ment we took the long way

Beautiful route which is nice and dog friendly. Is at it's best on a clear day to get the views.

Made our own little shortcut which more or less halves the route but it was great. Will try the full walk one day when the puppy can manage 8km

Only 3 stars seems a bit harsh but then what do you give an an absolute gem and what do you reserve for your best ever walks? This very easy walk on well made tracks was simple and straightforward (you could use a robust baby-buggy or mobility scooter). Lovely views over the Plain once you get ‘on top’. You can easily extend the walk if needs be and be slightly more adventurous. We walked on 23 Dec 19. We were first time users of the App and found it very easy.
