Great walk, quite a few steep sections but wonderful views to reward

Lovely varied walk with plenty of woodland, open fields, rivers. Moderately steep start but eases off after that and just some careful footing needed at times, otherwise quite easy.

I am giving this walk five stars as it is impeccably written (lots of detail and all very accurate) and the walk itself was an enjoyable, varied one and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Silent Pool is an interesting spot to look round and I enjoyed the mixed forest and open country terrain. I especially enjoyed the forest swing with the marvellous view over the Surrey Hills! Will hopefully do this one again at some point.

The view from Newlands corner is spectacular however much of the rest of the walk is in dense hedgerows or trees with little view and in the shade. Spent most of the time dodging nettles wishing we were in the full sun. Recommend popping into the vineyard at the start of the walk as they do a tour and have a nice selection of their own wine you can buy by the glass / bottle. But after that just take your car to the Newlands corner car park pay the £4 and enjoy the view with a picnic.

Quite hilly - my kids moaned a bit!!

Really great walk, great views and free car park. There’s the Silent Hill distillery right on the car park too if that’s of interest where there’s a tour and shop, and of course samples.

a nice walk. it goes through the village so be prepared for a good track to be on public road.

beautiful!! seen deer really nice on warm day at 17.30

A nice mornings exercise with a few gentle hills and plenty of points of interest to take a breather whilst viewing. Directions where well thought through and provided us with the necessary information to dress appropriately for long grass and stinging nettles. As this was a fine dry day, there was little mud however I can imagine after a few days rain this would get very messy. This walk would make a good loop to add to a trip along the pilgrims way to newlands corner and back again

Only a few muddy patches could be said to mitigate a perfect shortish walk. There is plenty of variety to the route including a castle, a high street, a river, meadows and cattle - busy in town, on one’s own in the country. The route is easy to follow too.

Would definitely recommend this walk to anybody with a dog! Be prepared for the super steep hill at the start of the walk but after that it is very enjoyable. Lovely walk which takes you all through countryside and past St Marthas Church which overlooks Chilworth and Albury.

Lovely walk great views. Car park quite busy.

Great views and not much road noise. Nice cut through a small village with interesting buildings and a great pub for lunch.

This has a few steep hills but the views are outstanding. You go through woodlands, fields and through Shalford which is great for a food stop.

I loved this walk. Varied and good views.

Nice walk in the countryside. Steep hill to start, nice bluebells in April. Sharpe descent and then a riverside walk. If you are an NT member you can get a tour of Shalford Mill too.

Didn’t enjoy this walk found instructions at start confusing and very busy

Completed this walk on a lovely sunny Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful rolling countryside but lots of shady paths to shelter from the sun if necessary. Free car park which was half empty on a busy Easter weekend. Varying scenery - rivers, locks, weirs, stately home - loved it. Directions very good - great to have the map to double check. Stopped at The Seahorse in Shalford for a drink in their lovely garden. Dogs welcome in the garden and inside the pub.

Lovely sunny walk - started at The Jolly Farmer pub as car park free (Whitmoor Car Park at the start now charges). Gorgeous paths through woodland and heathland mostly dry now. A little hard to find the correct path when crossing roads as some paths seemed little used and overgrown. GPS map great though and got us in the right direction. Pub fantastic - lovely garden and dogs very welcome.

Lovely route for a morning or afternoon walk. Wide variety of birds in the woodland close to the end of the walk so I would recommend taking a pair of binoculars.

Just completed this as a run with my dog using the gps map as a guide and very straightforward. Lovely route the odd climb but nothing too long, water along the way for the dog with minimal road detours. You could even stop off at the police dog training park! Ran it in shorts mid April no nettles to worry about this time of year. No cattle only one field with horses in that weren’t bothered by us.

Really enjoyable walk with lots of variety. We took our dog who enjoyed the paddles in the Tillingbourne, especially during our coffee stop at the Drummond Arms. We did the walk in dry conditions and still found it to be quite challenging for a 2-boot walk, with quite a lot of up and down. In wet conditions the path down the hill to Chilworth would be very muddy so be prepared for that. Our dog had to be on the lead quite a lot due to road traffic and livestock, but there were plenty of off-lead opportunities too.

The pathway is still closed, Clandon in is vey busy and the pavements are very narrow. This walk is very nice but there is a constant hum of traffic

This was a lovely walk, nice incline gradients with good ground and glorious views of Surrey at the top. Walked 01/03/19.

Worth the climb at the beginning for the lovely views from the top. Another walk with plenty to see along the way. We were spoilt in the warm February sunshine and very little mud at all.

Lovely walk, took me an hour and 20 mins on a sunny February afternoon. Superb views.

Lovely walk, nice variety of surfaces, instructions excellent, ty.
