Decent trail with easy walking paths (dirt road really) until the base of the steepest accent. Be prepared for wind and a steep final kilometer. When you hit the wall note that you can walk on either side to protect you from the wind. Path from trailhead is easier than trail from Newcastle. Also, trail from Newcastle side is mostly granite cobbles and we found it to be harsh to walk on.

Check weather before climb as the peak is often shrouded in fog.

amazing trail!!! we ventured off to look at some of the derelict houses along the route so ended up doing 9 miles in total. the variance of this walk is stunning - would highly recommend.

walked this route with our 3year old and 1year old yesterday. was a great walk and the kids loved it as lots of places to explore

Did this last weekend, was very windy up top but still a great walk.

nice simple cycle

Fantastic walk with different terrains to experience. Would definitely do this again. Completed in 3hrs 45.

Good walk, good views - you can see for miles, Luds "Church" interesting, walk can be muddy. Busy on summer weekends.
