Nice local walk easy to follow

Nice walk plenty of wildlife. very clean canal and pleasant walk

we started by turning right at the beginning of the walk where there is option to start either for the circular walk. and were glad we did as the final stretch of the walk cuts across a farmers field which we would never have found our back out of if we had gone then other way! All in all beautiful woods to walk through with a little river, though the last part through the farmers field does not feel right cutting over the crops..also there is now a fence up which you have to walk around to get back to the beginning. think the route could do eith being updated! we still had a nice walk though.

Beautiful walk with a wonderful suprise at the end with springs, waterfalls and rocky paddling.

Cracking walk, did it this morning and really enjoyed it. We have had a long dry spell, but there are a couple of boggy bits even after that, so I would say boots essential on this route. One where I will go back when the sun's out again

really nice walk. easy enough to follow. beautiful views. we did it when snowing, was beautiful.

There’s two walks here, the shorter of the two follows the left bank of the river underneath the viaduct and is a mixture of fields and lanes with several kissing gates which I was happy to lift our pushchair over! Eventually you hit Low Catton which you can either head into or bear left to follow a quiet road walk back into Stamford Bridge. I believe if you continue into Low Catton you can eventually cross the river and head back on the right bank into Stamford Bridge, but that’s another story and another review

Nice walk in the cool June evening sunshine.

lovely easy start along canal side, nice and gradual to the hill and then quite steep to the top but good distant views, picnic and then steep descent. Good level walk returning to car park.

A nice 5km loop and an easy pathway to follow.

a beautiful scenic walk around nature. plenty of wildlife and flowers and birds to see. very calm and peaceful. the bridge at the beginning is out but you can either climb on and over or get your feet wet! just make sure phone is secure in pocket. not a breaking a sweat kind of walk but definitely one to try.

lovely walk, amazing scenery and it was not hindered by the rain either (although a little slippy in places). only problem we had with the route today was that they have a one way system in place for covid, this would be ok but it's not marked out early enough and it means you cant follow this route exactly, we had to double back on ourselves and it added quite a bit onto our journey, they should have a big sign at the beginning or something.

Great trail for moutainbiking and not to difficult but, has some great little runs that get the heart beating a bit.

Very easy trail, ideal for families.

Amazing walk, stunning paths and trails to enjoy and Craft Brews is a must make stop, picked up a litre of their IPA to take with us for the remainder of the walk, yummy, especially if you stop by the river to enjoy your beer and the scenery.

great walk, but this is Surrey, not Hampshire as the title suggests

Not too far from home, this walk brightened up a grey day. Lots of open spaces, mixed with narrower paths alongside the river. Not too much people traffic, friendly locals and an added ruin bonus..

Great walk! Varied and instructions were easy to follow!

Loved this walk. Make sure you cross the river at Hoghtons Bottom as no bridge further on. It is crossable but not with children. Majority of walk is off the roads. Forests, rivers, meadows....a bit of everything. Fine view of Preston on the top. Easy to navigate and paths very good. Not busy at all when we were there. Easy on road parking near Nabs head pub.

Nice trail through woods on East side and SW corner. But all along the top on busy road and SE section through scruffy farm area with lots of disused vehicles and rubble for a long while

Good walk enjoyed the bits along the canal and the aqueduct..suitable for dogs

Loved it ! Perfect for hike full of nature

Pleasant walk . Styles are mostly rotten though and need replacing and very overgrown in places . We were lucky today but cows could be a problem in several fields

A glorious walk with a few good ups and downs to get the heart pumping. Preston Bagot church is a lovely place to stop for refreshments from your day sack and the ice cream shop in Henley in Arden will provide a treat for the end. Definitely park at the medical centre - a short cut through an alley to the right of Nutkins Nursery to the high street, or over the bridge to the right of the medical centre, and turn right to get to The Mount by the church for start of walk. So lovely not to find Harris fencing and HS2 excavations!!

Great walk but had to walk through 3 fields not long after the activity centre two of which had horses in them. No warning given and in one field the horses were actually blocking the path, my friend was very nervous. Managed to get past but on leaving the field there was a sign to say “horses may bite or kick”. No warning of that at the beginning of the fields. It may be the sign has been put up by the owner to cover themselves but as this walk brings you from the other direction there should be a warning sign at both ends. Otherwise, great walk

Very bland and not pretty. Lots of walking on roads and some are dangerous. Much better walks to pick than this one.

We took this trail on a rather wet and rainy day, We started off passing the Crompton mill where we saw little baby ducks Continuing along the rather surprisingly blue water canal. it flat and very green. After the canal part we went up the black rock passing the old wagon tracks and we could see a farm growing Christmas trees. The trail also took us onto the high peak trail where the views were rather foggy due to the wet weather All in all this trail offers a variety of scenes and is a nice short walk.
