Quite a lot of walking through urban areas and housing estates, but the river and woodland areas were nice!

Unable to find anywhere to park as the dog and duck car park said customers only (I think)

A really varied walk with plenty of interesting buildings and views, three areas had narrow overgrown paths between Sutton end and Sutton recommend you either take long trousers or snippers

A lot of road walking

Fantastic walk with fantastic views . Noise from the M25 cannot be ignored. Challenging in one place the rest fairly easy. We went ant clockwise. Will attempt the opposite direction next time.

Beautiful walk, lots of wildlife including Alpacas. The route is actually about 6.6km not 4.8km as shown, worth it though

Not a great walk to be honest. Gave up after the castle as it was just the same views (non existent) very much a city trail. A lot of rubbish too

Lovely walk even with some rain! Great scenery... would do again

Lovely walk in good weather conditions. Good mix of woods, fields and buildings. Not boggy after recent rain but would be in winter.

Don’t run this at 3am. Rather creepy with just a torch especially if you are a scary movie enthusiast. I will be revisiting after work during the daylight

It’s been a week or so of heavy rainfall, the trails were wet and muddy in parts but much better than I was anticipating! A thoroughly enjoyable and scenic route! No problems with my little pooch in tow. There were a few stiles, most had dog access, there may have been 1 we needed to lift him over but generally mostly dog friendly. A superb route, going to come back and run this one!

Lots of woods to walk through went anti clockwise which I think gave better views

I’ve given this low stars because there was quite a few road crossings and there was also a lot of golf course walking. Personally although the golf course was perfectly gorgeous... it felt a bit too man made and we had to be careful of golfers around us. It felt like we were intruding on their private game. There was also a section of the course where there were locked gates with a padlock and chain around them. The trail was telling us to go through these gates so we were sneaky and squeezed through the gates in between the chain of the padlock to get through. I don’t know if this fate is always locked but just incase. It was quite adventurous sneaking through though we felt quite happily cheeky lol used the gps and was very accurate. Some narrow paths but really an easy route. We did enjoy this route though and it was in the evening and we had a great sunset!

A great circular walk from Kirknewton, up the College Burn to Hethpool Linn then following part of St Cuthbert's Way back towards Yeavering Bell, which is a great place to visit, with the entire top of the hill still surrounded by the remains of the walls of an Iron Age hill fort. Look out for the wild goats on the way up and down. Can get muddy walking through fields towards Hethpool Linn. Make sure you stick with the fence in this section as you walk alongside the wood, as the stile to cross over the fence to take you down through the trees to the burn is behind bushes so is easily missed

This trail was good, easy to navigate, however dogs need to be kept on a lead for about 80% of it

Lovely picturesque walk, definitely going to save it to do on a sunnier day as think it’ll be even more beautiful. Map/instructions very easy to follow!

Starts off v pretty along the canal and then goes in between farmland on a trail but there is nowhere to stop for a picnic and there is a constant din of traffic.

Lovely walk with a variety of landscapes (farm, beautiful houses, forest, meadows, ponds...). Impossible to get bored!

We took our dogs and passed the waterfall which was lovely. There were quite a few people around but it was a nice walk through a few fields. A few steep bits and lots of mud!

Great little bit of forest time, don’t skip that part!

Nice trail, some bits less exciting the others but overall enjoyable walk.

Good varied walk. Enjoyed the middle section through fields the most. some paths a little overgrown but nothing too bad.

Mostly flat trail on hard paths. Last 3/4 mile along road (there is a footpath)

Great walk. Good mix of woodland and farmland paths. Walked with my wife and kids. We did get lost once but found our way back. We even saw some Alpacas on route.
