WalkingMuddy

First of all, thanks to the person who perfectly detailed all the steps for this walk. It was so well described that we managed without a problem! The walk is really easy (no challenging bits, other than a few metres of a slope up and down - ideal to introduce someone to hiking or get back into it!) and the area is quiet. We hardly saw people on the way. Very muddy in a couple of places if it's been raining, so wear appropriate shoes because there's hardly a way to avoid it! It takes 2h to complete at slow/normal speed. Before the church in Groombridge, there's a pub and some benches in the green to stop for a drink or some food. We brought our own food but made the most of the tables at the pub, as it's closed due to lockdown.

Was excited for a pretty little walk through fields and such but the HS2 diversion really spoiled it. Still got a good walk in but won’t be coming back until the miles of ugly fencing are gone.

Average trail running route. Lots of track and small lanes. Muddy in places.

An urban trail but fort nelson and portchester castle make it worth it. Great fish and chip shop on the way round. Easy walking.

Not the most picturesque or quietest of walks but if you’re in the area, grab a cup of tea from the little bakery at the start, do the half hour walk, and reward yourself with a pint in the Bull at the end. Why not?

Mixture of well-walked paths and bridleways. Good opportunity to stop for coffee in Woodstock at half-way.

To much road on the way back from Gaddesby, you can go up Park Road, there is a footpath across fields all the way to Rearsby, a lot nicer

There was far too much road on this one so we took lots of detours through footpaths which turned out to be slightly longer but much prettier!

Lovely Thanksgiving Day walk in the late Autumn sunshine. A few deviations due to conversational distractions, and sometimes sticky underfoot - but a really beautiful round of pastoral scenery.
