Great walk with some off-lead opportunities for dog walkers. Start of the walk is a little confusing; After 2nd stile, which is overgrown and nettles for about 10m, you reach the flood barrier but you need to go immediately right here to the tree line on your right. When you then arrive at the road, head up the road that goes to Dunsforth Lodge. After that, easy peasy

Gorgeous walk. We started from the ruins then followed the beautiful river around to the woods. It's a nice easy trail with lovely peaceful views. Barely any road walking. One thing to note, during these times of social distancing there are places where this isn't easy to do. You'll need to go off track and wait for people to pass. If you're more vulnerable than others at this time, I probably wouldn't go on this walk just at the moment.

Great walk, very dog friendly apart from a small section on the road. A nice walk to do in lockdown, not too busy.

Lovey walk Some quite overgrown with nettles so don’t wear shorts unless you fancy a lot of weaving! Interesting route, easy to follow

Lovely walk for all the family. Kids moaned a bit about the steep incline at the start but it was soon over and the rest was pretty flat and easy. Some nice views too

Great gentle hike, though hill at start is a little tough! Beautiful views of abbey on the final stretch and very dog friendly.

Great walk with a mix of open pastures, woodland and riverside. Lots of wildlife can be seen. Path conditions good nothing overgrown (Mid April). Took 4.5 hours with the family including a few stops to enjoy the scenery.

Really beautiful walk, not muddy at all (but it’s been unseasonably dry weather)...April 2020

Nice, easy walk that circulates Masham, following the Burn River and River Ure until entering the Masham Nature Reserve at Marfield Quarry.

Really simple flat walk with my 66 year old dad. Beautiful views and highly recommended.

Lovely easy walk to do with the children. Though very busy for a Sunday (probably because the sun was out) and probably not the best place to go for social distancing! Easy flat terrain with plenty of places to stop and rest.

Fantastic

Great walk with dramatic views. I parked just outside the car park on the road side and donated £2 as suggested. As I was out with the dog and the falls at Gordale Scar were flowing heavily I didn't fancy the scramble and so detoured by going back out to the road and walking up the side of the gorge and joined back up with the route at the top, which ensured I didn't miss out on the spectacular view from above.

Lovely little walk along two reservoirs. Nice woodland area as well as views across the water- will definitely visit here again

Completed this walk on an exceptionally blustery day, but that didn't detract from what was an excellent walk. As others have said, the trail starts with a scramble up a muddy incline in the woods which gets your heart racing, after which the rest of the walk is quite gentle with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The path by the river was very muddy, but not an issue if you come well prepared (wellies). We had the dog off her lead all the way round and barely met anybody else until the end. One of our favourites to date.

Great trail. The initial section just past the wood was almost impassible. The water run-off from the hill collects about midway down and creates a pool of an almost quicksand type material. You can get over it by sticking close to the wall but don't try and walk over it without wellies. There is also a section approaching the High Reservoir that prohibits dogs due to nesting birds, however you can bypass this bit by continuing along the bridle path. Lovely walk.

The lake is a hidden gem. Beautiful walk - mixture of terrain, fields and paths.
