Very nice walk, underfoot conditions were really good for this time of year. Will be nice to see the new vineyard once the growing season is here.

the walk was fine but spent the whole walk within ear shot of the A64. The paths were well defined but not my preferred choice of locations.

Lovely walk but not great if you want to allow your dog to run - there are thousands of pheasants, with pheasant feeding stations all along the route and a farm at the end with livestock.

First to Review

Very easy... good for pushchairs. Short but sweet. Took a few stops to skim stones and completed in just about 20mins.

Lovely walk but not really dog friendly as described on the app. Majority of the walk is through farmers fields with sheep on them, so had to keep my dog on the lead. Was hoping for a walk where she could be let off as route was described as being dog friendly.

A lovely walk that is not too busy. A range of different flowers and animals along the route!

Walking

I really enjoyed this walk with my dog who was off lead for most of the time. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all gates were 'kissing' gates and all the stiles had lift-up dog 'hatches' - ideal for older dogs or older folk who cannot lift their dogs over stiles! The walk is easy and on the flat so obviously no spectacular views but beautiful countryside and farmland views. The access road was very quiet, as was the whole walk. I saw butterflies and wildflowers that I haven't seen in years and lots of birds including Goldfinches, Yellow Hammers and Sparrowhawks.

No shadeOver grown

Nice walk not much in the way of views River hidden for most of the trail and not accessible and not much on the way of shade if you plan on picnicking stop on the first half of the route as not really anywhere to stop after the half way point other than that a good route for beginners

Nice walk, not anything spectacular in terms of the view but easy to follow and a very easy level. Walked past some very friendly cows and two fields of Alpacas who had recently birthed some babies

This walk can be made longer. On the long road at the beginning you can take a right turn which will take you past a livery and it will bring you back onto the normal route. Adds on 50-60 minutes.

Loved, loved, loved this walk. We barely saw a soul and the scenery was stunning. Was not expecting such a pretty forest scene. If you don't mind a hill, I'd recommend taking the parallel bridal path by the River Riccal. It's easy to rejoin the path and it's the most stunning, crystal clear stream. There's toilets in Helmsley too (even open during lockdown)

Great walk , beautiful woodland at the start , and a few hills in the second half , will definitely do this again when the pubs reopen to provide that deserved liquid refreshment at the end of the walk

Beautiful relaxing long walk, our dog could be off lead most of the way. A field with cows but they were fine with walkers and dog keeping their distance.

Enjoyed this walk. Would describe as easy not moderate. Also completed in 1h and 20. But overall really nice, and good views by the river
