Lovely little walk through the city. perfect mix of urban, historical buildings and greenery. Very busy for the most part so it's not the quietest, peaceful walk but the history of the city makes up for it. Great way to quickly look around York if you're in the area.

Was a great walk, my children loved it! Wished we got longer at the car park so could enjoy the areas we came across. But instead we had to rush back to the car! X

a very pleasant walk along the river to the ruined abbey, give yourself an extra couple of hours when parking and have a picnic there. Alternatively there are plenty of choice for a coffee in Richmond.

Tracked route with some bridges and paths. It isn’t 5kms but you can add more distance in if you track your route. We went round twice with two kids (7 & 3) and a pushchair and it took a little over an hour (including coffee break). Nice little walk tracking the river.

New Years Eve stroll. Strange start to the walk on old railway line through housing estates. Takes a while to get to the sea. Once there, lovely open beach for the dog to run around on. We took a detour and walked to the castle, then down to the harbour and a town walk back up the hill to the car. Very easy underfoot and nice way to see Scarborough.

Unfortunately, the portion to the castle is temporarily closed. Until when? It’s unclear. The walk around the headland is beautiful and lovely!

Nice easy 4mile walk.. just under. Started near the bridge in Richmond and followed the River Swale to Easby Abbey and St. Agnes Church. Crossed the bridge and followed the river back till we reached Richmond. Very peaceful, shaded walk most of the way round, good underfoot. Would love to see it as the seasons change.

I did the cinder track from Scalby up to Ravenscar. It's a constant climb and the further away you get from Scarborough the fewer people you meet. Fantastic views and a great café at Ravenscar. Good for gravel biking both ways.

Lovely walk through fields and farm land. The guide is excellent and us two non-locals got a great taste of the Malton countryside. Minor point, towards the end of the walk when you skirt a hill along a path at 1 o'clock from the gate, the next gate you're looking for is actually half way along the field rather than in the far corner.

This would have been better but the building works have shut off a portion of it between points 3 and 4. The rest is fine though.
