Great area! We took our bikes to explore the place- good bike bike trail. Lost of lovely points, views and spaces to rest.

Just completed with a 3 And 7 year old and they loved it. Soft under foot for much of the way, our boots took a pounding but very enjoyable, with a stunning view to finish off.

This is much shorte than 10.8... possibly got the decimal point in the wrong place. It's closer to 1.8, It's a beautiful victorian park, and the lakeside walk feels like you're in the countryside.

Good walk with dog. Pretty easy walking, mostly waterside. Muddy in places though.

Lovely park to walk around. I chose this walk as it was pram friendly but as one of the bridges were out decided to stay in the park. So a short walk for us

By far the finest park in the Preston area. Always lots to see and paths to walk. Simply stunning.

Great trail - paths to follow on the whole route, some fab views along the way and even saw some livestock too. Would highly recommend! Takes around 2-2.5 hours in total and free parking at the beginning of the trail.

Trail disappears to nothing at one point. Some of the route isn’t a trail at all, it’s just “winging it”. Not good for a family walk!

A nice and easy short walk. Little hilly in places although mainly flat all the way around. Should be fine with a push chair. Benches at regular intervals. Family all enjoyed. Nice woodland and nature Walk.

Really good walk. Ground hard which was a bit tricky at times. Watch the young cows they neatly had us in the field. I was lucky to get over the style before they reached us. Other cows the the last fields were fine with us walking through. But we did it very fast. Enjoyed the walk with some great views.

Nice circular walk in pleasant surroundings and nice countryside. As a large portion of the walk across fields the going was rather wet and boggy so a little difficult at times. Good idea to wear gaitors especially if you intend finishing off the walk with a nice meal in the Clog & Billycock.

First to Review

I'm in two minds whether to recommend this walk. We completed it in mid January 2020 on a fine dry but foggy day following months of very wet weather. For the most part the route is obvious even in poor visibility but significant sections of the trail go through open fields or pasture which was obscured by fog on our trip. Our main gripe was the huge areas of boot sucking gunk in these pathless sections and elsewhere after weeks of rain. There was no view from the high point on Yellow Hill and I had to use my hand-held GPS to stay on track. After crossing a deep mud-filled gulley that resembled a WW1 battlefield, there are some scenic sections when the path rejoins the River Darwen. This walk should only be done after a prolonged dry spell. I can recommend the Butlers Arms in Pleasington.
