beautiful route. I always walk up the steep hill first to get it out of the way. The walk after that is a lot more enjoyable and the views are spectacular.

Quite a steep incline up Ingleborough with loose footings, the hardest part for us. Definitely a workout on the knees, be prepared! Whernside was a lovely walk with fantastic views across the viaduct and beyond. Part of the recommended route approaching Ingleborough was closed, but diversions were clear. Current route can be seen in recording on the incline.

We parked along the seafront at 11am on a Sunday in August and when we returned it was very busy so I would advise you arrive as early as you can in peak season. The shops opposite sell lovely local ice creams. It was low tide when we did the walk and I am not sure how wide the path is at high tide. This may make social distancing a bit tricky. We found a bench to sit on at the entrance to the holiday park half way round as you start to head inland and had lunch. The highlight of the walk was the Knott. It was not too hard to climb and the views from the too were stunning.

Pretty easy and manageable. Views are lovely and you can choose to walk on the beach or higher up

great walk; amazing views... on a clear day, we could certainly see the sea, and possibly could see isle of man from whenside peak. we did it clockwise which seemed to be the opposite direction to everyone else on the day I think the whenside peak is pretty similar and gradual ascent/descent on each side; but I definitely think Ingleborough peak would have been better to do anticlockwise on this route, because it was a very steep descent (clockwise)

This was a lovely walk! but I wouldn't recommend some parts for children. there was a very steep edge for quite a while, it was beautiful! but only if you're steady.

Great trail, be aware with little ones there is a steep unprotected drop on a narrow path at one point. Other than that such a great route!!!

Started early and on a hot humid day, this made it tougher, Whernside was a nice gradual hike up coming from The viaduct but the decent towards ingleborough was hard and tough, the accent up ingleborough is very hard and tough going with a very steep incline and the Carries on more up to the summit, walk all way down ingleborough was muddy and again hard declines just on grass with no footings and steep areas but views are priceless and it’s a great walk you feel you have a view of both mountains climbed and really appreciate what you have done.

Lovely walk, parked the car next to the sea ( Sunday so no charge) and walked around the the sea front, then walked into the forest mid way around which the kids loved, after that we followed the signs to arnside knott, nice walk up with lovely views at the top, at the end there is a pub on the corner which does some great real ale beers ! And 2 beers and 2 kids drinks for £9, which isn't bad .

Very hard and very long. A challenge alright esp for a novice. Downhills are crazy hard if you lack the thigh muscle to cope. Research relevant preparation as these mountains can hurt!!

Did this as a training walk for another route I'm doing in a few weeks and thought it would be a good one. I was right! The trail is marked as hard and believable me, it's a tough hike. The two areas to watch out for are the decent from Whernside and the climb on Ingleborough. the rest is moderate to hard, but with a steady pace it's achievable. The views were amazing though, and to see Ingleborough looming in the distance creates a challenge and motivation to keep going. Overall, a great hike and one to recommend.
