beautiful route. I always walk up the steep hill first to get it out of the way. The walk after that is a lot more enjoyable and the views are spectacular.

Do not follow the beginning of this route. It’s all overgrown with lots of thorny bushes. Go around the footpath which looks longer but is quicker when you don’t have to navigate walking through bushes without a path! The views from the top are gorgeous and the crags are stunning. The route at the top of the hill is beautiful. Just take your time to get there and don’t follow the route shown!

Quite a steep incline up Ingleborough with loose footings, the hardest part for us. Definitely a workout on the knees, be prepared! Whernside was a lovely walk with fantastic views across the viaduct and beyond. Part of the recommended route approaching Ingleborough was closed, but diversions were clear. Current route can be seen in recording on the incline.

HikingGreat!

Now, admittedly, we only walked the first half of the trail, but it was perfect for the kids. The viaduct was truly magnificent, and the valley beyond was full of sheep and views. We turned around because of poor time management in the morning, and because it started to bucket.

Great walk with amazing panoramic views at the top. The path was very overgrown near the start though if you follow the route up through the gorse. There is a way to go round the edge and avoid though which we did on the way back down. Overall a gorgeous sunny day!

We parked along the seafront at 11am on a Sunday in August and when we returned it was very busy so I would advise you arrive as early as you can in peak season. The shops opposite sell lovely local ice creams. It was low tide when we did the walk and I am not sure how wide the path is at high tide. This may make social distancing a bit tricky. We found a bench to sit on at the entrance to the holiday park half way round as you start to head inland and had lunch. The highlight of the walk was the Knott. It was not too hard to climb and the views from the too were stunning.

lovely walk, the dogs loved it as much as we did. Stunning views and good path. Parking is limited so we benefitted by arriving early. By late morning the area was packed and would have been difficult to find parking

Great views and scenery most of the walk was safe. But on the beginning of the route going anti-clockwise the path hugging the shore can be very dangerous so I decided to climb into a field and out further down to avoid the section of the path that is about an inch from a steep drop onto rocks. Also this path is not on the ordinance survey maps so I wouldn’t recommend that section of the walk that hugs the rocks and shore. The remainder of the walk was fantastic. Not 9.5km more like 16km.
