Great hike, mostly shady and not to hard to accomplish. The parking lot is quite big, although it gets crowded on weekends.

Physically challenging trail that will be great for experienced hikers. Has lots of beautiful nature and animals along the way(cows, goats, horses and even alpacas). As an amateur hiker I was quite tired by the 8th mile, but still managed to finish it. Take water and snacks with you as there’s nowhere to get in from whilst on the route. Wear sneakers or hiking shoes. Quite a lot of nettles everywhere so recommend to wear long trousers.

This is a beautiful trail, but I had terrible trouble following the route because the in-app map takes a very long time to update your position so it was endlessly difficult to navigate. Perhaps one needs to purchase a paper map of the area next time. None the less this is a really special place & even on one of the hottest days in the year in England there was plenty of shade for at least 1/2 the route. We went anti-clock wise and due to many moments of being lost we did 1/2 the route and looped back our own way. Tip: take plenty of water, a physical map & allow plenty of time (we walked for 3 hours)

Views views views. Make sure you have enough space on your memory card for all your pics and avoid the weekends. The walk starts at the very big and busy National Trust Ashridge Estate car park. I walked counter clockwise (recommended). The first 40 minutes are utterly forgettable (busy, flat, boring) but after the farm it's absolutely amazing throughout. Lots of views and beautiful hills. It was quite busy at start and halfway point on a Friday afternoon due to car parks at the nicest places, so weekends will not be enjoyable. No hard climbs except the last one right at the end. Of all my 15 walks so far in Surrey Hills and Chiltern, these had best views. Did it in 3 hours, no rests.

Quiet and easy route. Good variety of scenery and opportunity to spot local fauna and flora (e.g. wild flowers). Local pub near to start/end of route for food if desired. Easy to get to from North London.

A lovely walk - lots of open fields and some very picturesque farmhouses and cottages. We did it on a Saturday afternoon and saw very few people along the way. Signposting and tracks were all in good order and directions on the app were spot on. We took it at a fairly leisurely pace and with a couple of breaks managed it in 2hr 30min. Would definitely do this walk again.

Nice easy walk with a mixture of canal, countryside and town. Also good is the HUGE car park with cafe and toilets.

Lovely walk , Easy to moderate. I enjoyed it better then other walks I did in the area. NOTE: There is some confusion on the map, shortly after start , about a mile , you reach to a point where map direct you left strait into a farm. The lady owning the farm told me to go right instead as her farm is a private property. That took me to about another two miles of diversion via a lovely lavender fields. Nice diversion but the total walk was 6.5 miles instead of 4.7 The circle itself pass through lots of sheep and horses , even an active horse riding archery. Lovely fields on a sunny day , lovely views. I was alone all the way, no other hikers around. Recommended.

A lovely walk, hardly saw anybody else apart from plenty of wildlife. Easy going and easy to follow with these instructions. Shame the pub is now shut! Gorgeous countryside.

Nice summer walk. Took in a picturesque portion of the Ridgeway Trail, in addition to woodlands and farm land. A few enjoyable hills as well. We didn’t pass any fields with livestock. Would recommend.

Ashridge forest is always beautiful so a great walk, great views and plenty of parking. Be warned though, there are a few hills to climb on this trail. I was not prepared for them..

Trail level and well maintained but very very busy on Saturday afternoon. Paths too narrow to pass 2 metres apart. Might be ok during the week.

A lovely short walk around the park. Great for kids. Adults can go to two other great local pubs, the Rose and Crown or the Six Bells. not ideal if you wanted more than a gentle mooch around a medium size park, seasoned hikers may want more of a challenge. Otherwise, there is the St Albans town centre you could detour to if you wanted to look at local shops/restaurants.

Really nice walk, especially the portion that follows the Grand Union Canal. Parking at Tring station is costly, (6qds at weekends), while just behind the bridge over the canal on left there is small space, where parking is possible free of charge. Initial parts of walk are led mostly between the hedges, while the second part (from Wiggington) is really beautifull.

**Parking** As you approach the station, there are a row of houses with a single yellow line. you can park here anytime mon-fri after 12pm aslong as you arent blocking driveways. saves you paying for parking at the station.you still walk up this road at the end of the walk. very peaceful walk, didn't meet many people at all. great for dogs! The bridge going over the bypass nearer the beginning was abit hairy scary if you have a phobia of heights, I don't mind heights myself but even I was nervous crossing! The end canal path section of the walk is a single file type path. very tight in places, and one section was flooded and had no choice but to get my feet wet and muddy as I was wearing sandals. either that or a swim in the canal ! two kingfishers spotted which was a delight because I've not seen one for years, let alone two! all in all, a nice afternoon walk.

This was a lovely walk passing lots of beautiful horses and views! Just one thing to note was when parking the actual car park to the pub is closed but there is still space for some cars on the side of the road next to the barriers and in front of the houses next to the pub. Overall I loved this route and would go again!
