The Wye Valley AONB (in Welsh "Dyffryn Gwy") is located in both England and Wales, in the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire. It was established, as the name suggests, along the River Wye. Its unique limestone gorge scenery, dense woodlands, wildlife, as well as archaeological and industrial remains are the reason why the area is so popular. Since it is a protected area, it is mostly rural, though some people make a living of agriculture and tourism within its boundaries.Show more
