Plenty of parking spots at the start of the trail which is always a bonus and the trail starts off quite nicely on hard ground. We’ve had quite a lot of rain recently and being mid-December the weather hasn’t been ideal so a lot of the parts of this trail were quite boggy so we had to find ways of going around them. Most of the time there were side routes that had solid ground so it wasn’t a problem but towards the end of the trail we almost got stuck in the muddiest part. After going through it and almost falling it in it, we tuned around after passing a gate to see how bad it really was only to notice a sign on the gate saying there was no access. Interestingly we didn’t come across any signs in the direction we were going. Having said all that the scenery around the trail was actually quite pretty. The sun was out (still cold and windy though) and everything looked very pretty. I think in the summer this would be a lovely walk but if you’re planning on doing it in the winter or after heavy rain, I’d make sure I’ve got some good wellies on.

Overall was a good walk was more road than we thought especially on the way back! It was dog suitable but was needing to use the lead more but when in the forest areas was great for our pooch :) the horse and groom in wood green was amazing, lovely food.

Very popular and ancient trail to St Catherine’s Hill and the labyrinth that lay at the top. Beautiful sunny November day meant conditions were better than that of recent days. Saw cattle roaming free, so for my first visit, four stars!

A local walk for me with some lovely views.

Slippery when wet! Needed the faithful Hunter boots today, route not possible without wellingtons. Rained half way round but I managed to stay vertical. If you like the mud this is perfect in November.

I really enjoyed running this trail and I am relatively new to trail running, about a years experience now. I ran the trail in November and it was very muddy and boggy plus a few decent hills :) I had to cross a river as well, which was fun! You defo need good trail running shoes and your phone fully charged. The trail is not well signposted and without your phone and 4G it would be easy to get lost. I am looking forward to running it again.

Nice trail. It was bit muddy this time but with right shoes it's not a problem.

Walked this yesterday at the end of November with light shower, which made the trail that much more fun to walk. Great views. Great part of the Forest.

Great walk. Walked in November after week of rain and was VERY muddy in sections through the woods but otherwise quiet, with easy to follow well made paths and very little on road (which was very quiet anyway). None of it is flat, but gradient is gentle all the way round.

Big of road walking which is not ideal but once off the roads a lovely walk

Wonderful walk. Frosty and fresh today. The moated farmhouse is really beautiful. Will definitely do this walk again.

A fantastic walk on a cold Winters day. It was muddy in places but generally pretty easy footing. Directions were easy to follow. Wildlife was great all the way. Red kites, buzzards, kestrels all in abundance. Pheasants everywhere. A pub in Exton could be a great stop although we didn't go in. Definitely do this again in another season

Beautiful autumn day in November. Decided to extend the length of the walk by parking at Forest view car park and walking to the start. Really muddy, boggy at times. Lost a toenail going downhill (casualty from 100km along Jurassic Coast walk in June). Was worth it though for the views. Didn’t expect to happen across a marker in honour of German Airmen, it was humbling imagining how they died in such horrific circumstances in such a beautiful place. Made me all the more grateful to be alive and walking these tracks.

Nice easy walk but a bit muddy in places. Majority is along the river or through woodland.
