The Hangers Way is a 21-mile long-distance walking route. The route starts in Alton and brings you out into the beautiful Hampshire countryside. It passes along a series of steep-sided wooded hills, known as “The Hangers” (hence the name!) and through the quaint market town of Petersfield. It finishes at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. The walk is a beautiful way to immerse yourself in nature, and along the way, you will pass through quiet villages, larger bustling market towns, meadow picnics, cosy pubs, steep hills with exhilarating views and cool, shady, peaceful woodland. A circular walk around Lyndhurst Heath and New Forest National Park. On this walk, you will see a lot of ponies. Please keep yourself and your dog at a safe distance. If you are camping at Pondhead farm, you can also choose to start there and end there. This walk goes by the Limewood Hotel, so please be courteous of private property. For this walk, you are starting at the east of Lyndhurst. Majority of the walk is easy to do and is suitable for children. If you are hungry or are looking for a pint to drink, make sure to check out the pubs in the village.Show more
