I did this trail this morning, absolutely loved it

Great walk but map not accurate around the half way mark. path leads across private land

Nice walk in varying Essex countryside, yes it's not all built over! The muddy and deeply rutted track mentioned in the 'Tarmac Lane to Footpath' section appears to have been dealt with as at the time of taking this walk, May 2019, the track was very flat and well kept. In fact, some of the earlier tracks are more muddy and rutted although not so bad that you cannot pick a way through.

good trail for young children to learn more about wildlife

Some of the pathway itself is a bit dull as it's often in close proximity to housing estates or industrial buildings but Hatfield Forest is beautiful once you get to it. The old train stations are interesting to look at also. Good access by car and straightforward to navigate (virtually a straight line).

Decent trail but very busy due to going on a warm bank holiday. Flatford Mill is the highlight and some time should definitely be spent there.

Fantastic walk. Dogs thoroughly enjoyed the swimming opportunities. Took us just over 2 hours. Just fabulous!

We really enjoyed this walk on a fresh April morning. The bluebells were beginning to flower and the floor of the woods were strewn with wood anemone. Strenuous in parts but easily manageable in a couple of hours.

Easy walk around the best bits of the country park. Nice to take in birdwatching, the marina and river, a great play area for children and a cafe for a drink at the end and FREE parking as well.

This walk is beautiful and the dog loved it as well. Thoroughly recommend The Butt and Oyster pub at Pin Mill as well. Dogs allowed in main bar.

Great walk, a little bit overgrown at the start, but well worth it.

Great walk. Lovely views, lots of animals and nice properties to see. Very good instructions. Make sure you stop off at Langham Church and meet Gerry the church cat.

What a beautiful varied and easy walking walk - definitely do this again.

Pleasant walk, though it goes through a couple of farm yards. When you're at the start there's a park. The right turn is before the park, that led us astray for a little while!
