what an amazing trail to hike. Would advise to go anti clockwise, clombing to Low Water and up, even thought the step like terrain is hard work the decent past Goats Water is a nicer down hill and as climbed after rain it was a safer bet. Even with low cloud the hike is great. Some parts do require some climbing over rocks on both paths.

It’s actually a very easy walk. All the way until you reach sharp edge, where it becomes a tough scramble. The scrambling is only for a little bit though. Fun hike overall. Great Challenge.

My wife and I did the hike this morning. Got lucky with perfect weather. Made for some beautiful pictures.

Lovely walk. Easy to add a divert here and there too, such as wansfell pike. Beautiful views from there!

Some parts on the road are dangerous. You are best off cutting these bits out and following footpaths instead. Road parts don’t hold any sort of views anyway.

What a day! I tackled this loop yesterday with my father on the eve of his 67th birthday. We are both fit and experienced outdoors types and agreed that this was the hardest walk we ever did in the UK. The trail is challenging with boulders almost the whole way and a couple of technical scrambles up and down gills on the way up. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed spectacular views the whole way, just not at the summit, which was covered in cloud. I would not attempt this in bad weather! It took 7 hours all told. Thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely worth the effort!

This trail is amazing! The views are phenomenal. Done between 2-6am, very misty and the river that you have to cross was absolutley raging which was terrifying in the dark, but had to be done as we where doing the National 3 peaks. The views at sunrise where beyond incredible. Agonizing on the knees but totally worth it.

Really lovely walk (although it rained for us half of the way around!) Quite a climb up to Walla Crag but well worth it for views at the top. We had our dog with us and kept him on a lead by the lake because there were signs up about dangerous algae - FYI!

My favourite scramble, challenging enough to keep you focused but straight forward enough. Amazing views and sense of adventure. Not for dogs. Don't be cruel and put them in that potentially life ending situation for them.

Great scramble, definately need confidence and a bit of a head for heights scrambling Sharp Edge as it's on the advanced side of things. If you've reasonably comfortably done Striding Edge, go for it. If not start with that one first. Overall fantastic hike and experience! Amazingly views from both the edge and on top of Blencathra itself. Average to good fitness required for the journey up and scramble.

Absolutely beautiful walk! Would recommend walking alongside Loweswater first and then you get some amazing views on the way back. Good paths and not too rocky etc. (Better to put in the village hall for the sat nav and then follow the road down on the next left for the car park)

Beautiful walk. Amazing Views

We started at the car park just before catbells via Allerdale ramble. Went to the summit and instead of doing the full loop round we continued down towards Derwent water and back to where we started that way. Great views all round.

Great walk, with amazing views at the top. Although it was more difficult than we expected! Our dog managed fine scrambling up but we were very glad we did the route in an anti-clockwise direction.
