It may be that I was with the wrong person or went on the wrong day but I found it a difficult scramble and was unable to see anything but cloud from approximately half way up. Not a peak I’d recommend.

Nice little jog around here, light undulations no serious hill. Would love to have taken a dog round here!

This was the first trail I went down was pretty good but It was absolutely chucking it down with rain. I think i would of enjoyed it more in the dry but it was still really good.

Done this walk yesterday 31/12/18 really nice walk would highly recommend

great views

A nice route for a good summer’s day. Anti-clockwise will give the least resistance against the crowds.

Great hike, long but not too strenuous. Worth getting up early to do this one for less crowds.
Route is easy to navigate with all trails map. No toilets on route only at campsite at the start. Just a shame couldn’t see anything when we got to the top

We went in late August, whether was fair enough but Lakes District is very busy and this trail had the feel of a motorway at times. Pretty, easy trail along the river to Skelwith Force and Bridge, there’s a cafe, shops and galleries. The flat part along the river was accessible for everyone, several road crossings, in fact much of the walk was accessible by car but the tarn is in a lovely setting and both Elterwater and Skelwith offer food/drink options. But if you’re looking for an adventure away from the crowds this isn’t it.

Good variety of terrains, will be going back to do again as it was too cloudy to see many of the views! Nice cafe at car park. £8 for all day parking

Access is via an almost invisible turn off right next to a Land rover dealership. Also did not appear to have public parking with the car park closed and labelled authorized parking.

awesome challenging walk note tough for dogs

Beautiful area with lovely views. Easy walk on good terrain. Perfect family trip.

Lovely view on good weather.

Not a great route. Nothing intresting to see. The path is tedious and you can easily go the wrong way and hit dead ends. Only redeeming thing is a woodland path to Arnsdale.

Super

my first hike for nearly over 10years, had an amazing day the view wernt the best because of low clouds but what a climb, very rocky at the start but the path gets easier as you go, just keep thinking your nearly there and you'll do it, that's my motto and I conquered it of to snowdan next week then the big Ben Nevis after then hitting irish peaks, I can say the pike got me attached.

cross the river.turn left straight up.top scramble.

Fantastic 360 degree panoramic view awaits the end of the hike up.

Beautiful walk

The perfect short 1 hour hike. Absolutely beautiful. The wishing tree was a plus!

Cheers,
Michael

Thoroughly enjoyed this walk however there was some uneven terrain, I would recommend to anyone uneasy on their feet that this is not necessarily an easy walk.

Probably the most direct, but neither the easiest, most interesting nor most sensible route. If you’re strapped for time and running it works ok.

Other routes from the Borrowdale side generally give more interest as would adding another top like Green Gable or Pillar.
