great for people with dogs but some sheep. but overall good path and lovely open spaces for them to run. slight incline on the way up, nothing too steep, with moderate descent through forest to lake side path.

If you are going to do this hike I would take the clockwise option, take the steep trek first rather than try and do it down hill. Lots of loose shale and it would be a killer on the knees. We took a short cut as we missed a turn on the top, as it happens if we had gone on the whole route we would of finished in the dark. Try and aim for a 8am start to hive you a good chance of finishing in daylight (winter time). Its a challenging hike in the winter, strong winds and plenty of mist. Having said that the views are stunning and want to do this again in summer.

Lovely trail, quite busy with not a lot of parking. Easy walk

We tried this walk out today and it’s now one of my favourites. We all had a lot of fun. Can’t wait to go back.

good walk, can easily be made shorter while on the route by skipping the east section. nice views throughout.

Awesome walk! Highly recommended if you’re looking for an easy walk that doesn’t talk long.

Absolutely beautiful walk! Would recommend walking alongside Loweswater first and then you get some amazing views on the way back. Good paths and not too rocky etc. (Better to put in the village hall for the sat nav and then follow the road down on the next left for the car park)

Would recommend this walk to anyone. Good trig point at the top but it was raining heavily all the way hence the mis hap on the map lol couldnt see where I was going at one point! If walking in summer please take bug spray i bitten even in the rain. Park on the left n is very minimal you’ll see a metal gate this is the starting point. Enjoy.!!!!

Absolutely fabulous hike. Stunning views, very easy to find although this app I would recommend to anyone. Downloads it and use it. 5 stars all round

This is a great walk , it start low along the lake side then climbs for some good views .

Not one of the best in the Lake District area , Only ok views from the top

Very steep shaley start but fantastic views from the off. Took our spaniel who made it look easy. After the difficult start it evens out and the decent down to the lake is easy. Lake walk is lively with a few bays for a swim. Really great hike.

Very tricky in cloudy conditions at the summit with children. We took my 6 year old. Although plenty of children were completing this trail successfully, under foggy conditions we would avoid. There were a few concerned parents towards the top. On a clear/dry day I'm not sure it would have been such an issue however but worth bearing in mind. The descent was excellent however. Crossing streams, stepping stones, small waterfalls. A real adventure and would highly recommend.
