Worth the climb to the top for great views on a clear day (and less crowds). On the north edge of the trail, take the detour to the Rydal caves as well. Took 3.5 hours from the bus stop at Ambleside Pier.

Nice easy to moderate trail with steep initial ascent, great views of Grasmere from the top

First time hiking at all and I found the first section of the walk to be very difficult. It was so steep, but managed to reach the top. After that, it settles into a gradual incline so it is a lot easier. The views are beautiful and I felt so accomplished when I reached the top. There are two different routes you can take where one is flat and easy, so a nice little break, and the other is another mountain (Little Man), so good if you want a more challenging hike.

After bridge turn left. Very good trek, quite steep, cold up on the top, but definitely worth it. If going in March or colder months, make sure you have warn clothes on.

This was my first hike in the lakes and as they say you always remember your first , love it and it’s a quick hike there and back in time for breakfast if needed

I included Bow fell with the crinkles and I felt I earned a good dinner that day as it was a fair slog but crack on

It’s a big hike well it was for me but well worth it after a slow start

Love this hike

I’ll have to re do this hike as I didn’t traverse the summit as I should of as I missed the turn but it was a slog to be fair

Good hike bit it’s a fair drive to get there but it’s worth the drive

Did this hike and went up lords rake and did both scarfell and pike big hike for me personally but well worth the effort, Lords rake has a real mountain feel

awesome walk with some great views and beautiful places to stay

Nice long easy walk but place could do with better signage as to start with there's no maps and we got lost twice, no Internet connection to find way back to the car. Also there's no signage about deer farms and dog chased them what was quite dangerous and stressful! No info to keep dog on a lead, so be careful when walking dogs.

The Coast to Coast Trail is not an "official" trail. It is poorly marked in many sections, and portions are in rough condition. It is, however, beautiful with some outstanding places to experience.

Great clear sunny day.

Walked up here on new year's Day. Had incredible views thanks to the strangely nice weather. Tough but worth it.

I would recommend this trail to anyone who has a basic fitness. We took a left on the y-crossing near the lake. Meant we went very steep up and very very steep down over top of the Mountain. You can walk with your dog. We had a sunny Day, that is recommend when you take the steep acsent/decent on the hill side.

Beautiful scenery awaits you at the top. Quite scrambly in parts, would advise taking the scramble up so it isn’t as harsh on your knees coming down! Plenty of nearby parking, limited spaces but plenty spaces along the roads. Highly recommend!

Difficult on the way back. We made a wrong turn and didn't follow the arrow on the rock, and then it's pure cliff edge climbing so had to double back!

great little walk

Great route up, the weather was poor on the day we went up so missed out on the views. Free car park at the start of the route.
