#1 - Idless Woods, Gunpowder Works and Iron Age Fort
Truro, Cornwall, EnglandLength: 2.8 mi • Est. 1 h 20 m
Good fun this one and nice for all to get out together. The main path is well laid and as you can walk along the stream and discover the abandoned workings of a gunpowder factory. There's also an overgrown hillfort with its own trees growing in it. Amongst all the pines and beeches there is this little collection of old gnarled trees growing up through the fort. There's also a fairly surprising collection of Eucalyptus trees, part of a Forestry commission experiment.
