Worked out 9.4km. Took us about 2.5 hours At first in the first half of it, we couldn’t find the path and a lot of the signs saying it was a walking route were leading us to private protest or muddy fields. So we spent a bit of time on the side of people’s homes.. Once we got on trail it was very nice. Especially the mill (the playground and a few other areas were closed due to recent flooding). There’s a garden too and waterfall. When we were two thirds of the way, the trail lead us to styal village and we realised we were on the Styal and Airport trail. The rest of the hike was on that trail. (A little annoying because we’ve done that hike before so a bit bored) but if you want to do a shorter version of this hike just go on that trail It’s not very busy, we went 5pm on a Sunday and there were only a few people in some areas. It’s fairly easy walk, kids could probably do it if they don’t mind the distance. Great especially if you’re a national trust member as you can visit the garden and apprentice house.

dog friendly and not too difficult. I would say it an easy walk. occasionally it can be a bit boggy at points

Nice and varied walk through woodland, fields and you even get to see some planes! We really enjoyed it!

This was a really lovely trail that on a normal day would probably be fairly intermediate in level. We went the day after a major rainstorm so parts of the walk were very muddy/swampy. Considering how close to the airport it was, it really felt very ‘countryside’ and led to the Quarry Bank Mill that would be a great midway stopping point (sadly it was closed when I went). It was an interesting trail with a good mix of ups & downs plus bridges to keep it interesting. There is parking at the very start at an airport hotel - this isn’t obvious from the map but useful to know!

fantastic app

Beautiful views! The directions after the airport were a little confusing for me but once I finally got sorted I really enjoyed myself. Some muddy areas and you have to be watchful for the many exposed tree roots.

Nice walk. One part of the route the path is blocked because of overgrowth, A quick jump over a fence resolved it though, Waist high grass so take an antihistamine

Great walk, highly recommended. A mixture of terrain and aeroplanes !

A fantastic trail. Great walk, lovely views, woodlands and streams. Great for dogs to explore and swim. Brilliantly time, highly recommended ⭐️

A little bit longer than the 8.17k worked out 10.91k, enjoyable but busy walk

I only live 15mins away and never knew about this great spot. It was pouring down so it was rather quiet, which was great. You pass the river a couple of times and walk through the woodlands, lots of steps to climb up and down but the scenery is lovely. The walk back from the airport path is all on narrow roads so need to be careful if you have children but I will certainly be back.

You could make it a pub based circular walk by parking at the ship inn, a couple of hundred yards from the chapel car park
