It's not easy to stay on the trail since there's is a lot o small paths that are not on the map. The location was not very accurate. But if you like to go on a venture an get a "bit lost" and discover other paths it's a good one, since most of the paths will get you to the main trail.

Nice walk but hard to say it’s even near the lake due to most of the walk being on the road with tall hedgerows. Bristol water own the land next to the lake and allow no admittance for walking which is a shame. Have to reiterate some of the comments about the horse in the field that is part of the route. The horse very nearly ran at us and our dog and we had to quickly run out to avoid being attacked so dog owners beware!

Great trail with lovely views and interesting landmarks. Good for dogs but they need to be on a lead in some places. Some quite steep parts though so wouldn’t really grade it as an easy walk.

Lovely walk, we tackled it anti-clockwise. This leaves the stunning view at Beacon Batch at the end of the hike. Nice and varied terrain, some steep climbs, but very manageable. Muddy in places so consider hiking boots.

I suggest starting up the hill not turning right like I did as clearly there must be better path than I took, which I must have missed. Lovely views, nobody around and it was nice sunny Saturday so should be :-) enjoy it

Nice walk. Most of the trail not really close to the lake because it's private land

Conditions were dry, no need for wellies yet! As previous reviewer mentioned, when starting this loop turn right first (anticlockwise loop) as this gets the climb out the way first, leaving you with the views of the top at the end. It's a much better way. DOGS: Plenty of off-lead space for them to do their own thing. No roads to worry about. Little stream about 1/4 way in for them to cool off. I didn't see any cattle on my route, but I did see horse shoe prints, so theirs horses around at times. 4* as it's a excellent dry route with some great views. Doesn't get 5* for me as there's not enough natural water (waterfall, lake etc)

We had a great time walking this trail with kids. My personal highlight was a super friendly horse that approached us. It was a bit scary first, but we quickly realized that it meant no harm (still need to be cautious particularly with kids).

Done this many times and different routes around the estate while dog walking. Great views and you can also walk around the far side ot the Dower House, abd see the little cottages that flank the road leading to the house.

A lovely scenic walk along the river. Seemed to be quite a lot of people.. but also lots of dogs, so that's a bonus!

Really nice walk with some stunning views. The walk starts along a road before it then descends gradually through some fields. There are some steep climbs which can challenge you a bit. There are a few animals in the fields so be careful with dogs. Would thoroughly recommend!

Mixed bag. Some lovely views and meadows! Only the last half mile was actually walking beside the lake. Most of the land near the lake belongs to Bristol Water and you can’t access it. Halfway round came across a very angry horse in a field with a donkey (you’re supposed to walk through the field) who went for the dog despite it being on the lead. Missed my dog by a few inches with kicks so beware that field if you have a dog and bypass by taking the road. Quite a steep hill leading up into the village but overall an enjoyable walk!!

Not a bad walk but a lot of time on roads with big tall hedges blocking the view. When you do get to see it though, it is fantastic. The dog had a bit of a scary altercation with a horse in one of the fields by the top right corner of the lake. Dog owners beware!

Good family trail with great views of the quarry. Long loop was probably abit too long for our young kids who moaned 2nd half of the trail. Also abit too busy at the moment with lots doing the trail in lockdown. I would avoid until self distancing measures are removed as the trails can be narrow.
