The TOP Warteberg hiking trail is a certified quality hiking trail that leads to the centre of Germany, the 516 m high Warteberg. The starting point of the hike is the car park at the Neun Brunnen recreation park. If you arrive by bus or train, follow a marked access route of around three and a half kilometres to the hiking trail from Heiligenstadt railway station.
In addition to cultural and historical attractions such as St Anthony's Chapel to the south of Geisfeld, this route also offers fantastic panoramic views over the Eichsfeld and the Thuringian Forest. There are refreshment stops along the way.
