Varied hike in the Thuringian Forest.
This hike is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Ilmenau. Great views, idyllic meadows and impressive quarries await. It is also possible to learn a lot about the work of Goethe - there is the GoetheStadtMuseum Ilmenau and the Goethemuseum Stützerbach with its original living and working room.
The walk is marked with a water wheel with crossed tools. From the entrance to Stützerbach, however, there are no more path markings.
It is very easy to get there by public transport. The "Ilmenau" railway station is at the starting point and the "Stützerbach" station at the end.
