The Lauchagrund - a scenic treasure of Thuringia is a rock-lined valley near Bad Tabarz. It was named after the mountain stream of the same name.
The name comes from "Lauchaha", i.e. leek water. There is a huge amount of wild garlic growing on the banks of the stream. The trail leads partly along the Lauchagrundstraße. The trail starts at the Inselberg Clinic. The route passes the natural geological monument Plattenbruch am Hübel and continues along Lauchagrundstrasse for quite a while, past Spindlereck and the Luther Fountain to Tempelchen. There the imposing rock world of the Lauchgrund emerges. Here the route returns to the other side of the Laucha.
