The Heldentrail is the ultimate challenge of the Südthüringentrail near Suhl. As the supreme discipline of the event, this demanding ultra trail covers around 65 kilometres and 2,500 metres in altitude through the unspoilt landscape of the Thuringian Forest.
You can expect a natural experience with a constant change of deep forests, wide meadows and technically demanding mountain ridges. In contrast to the shorter Giant Trail (47.5 km), which for many people marks their entry into ultra running, the Heldentrail is aimed at experienced athletes in search of an extreme, borderline sporting experience.
