Erfurter Impuls RTF 156er Strecke

This extensive cycle tour explores the picturesque heart of Thuringia, starting and finishing in the historic city of Erfurt. The route leads through a gently rolling landscape of fertile river valleys and dense forests on a mixture of quiet country roads and well-maintained cycle paths. The route is a physical challenge due to its considerable distance and the cumulative metres in altitude, requiring good stamina for the long climbs. Erfurt itself is a city steeped in history, known as the place where Martin Luther lived as a monk in the Augustinian monastery. Along the way, you can catch glimpses of St. Mary's Cathedral and the 120 metre-long Krämerbrücke, the longest inhabited bridge in Europe. The entire route is tarmac.
