The highlight of this beautiful route is the famous Dragon Gorge, which is around 3 kilometres long and only 68 cm wide at its narrowest point. Here you hike on narrow paths along exciting rock formations (sturdy shoes are an advantage). The route continues through the Landgrafenschlucht gorge and along the historic wine route to the Marienblick viewpoint. There you have a wonderful view over the Mariental valley, the treetops of the Thuringian Forest and Wartburg Castle.
