This extremely extensive hike initially follows the former railway line from Itzehoe through a wonderful Geest landscape. It continues northwards through Hohenlockstedt and across wide fields and dense forest. In Meezen, you follow the Lübsche Trade, a medieval trade route between the Hanseatic city of Lübeck and Dithmarschen. You finally reach the Boxberg (77 m) in a clearing. There are also places to stop for refreshments close by to recover from the long walk.
