• Danger posed by deadwood in the lower part of the mountain trail: There is an increased risk of falling trees in the lower part of the mountain trail due to standing deadwood. We recommend taking the Erlsgrund and Winterbergstraße routes instead. Areas with a lot of standing deadwood should be avoided, especially in windy, rainy or snowy conditions. The Dichter-Musiker-Maler-Weg is a long-distance hiking trail that leads mainly along the former historic Malerweg or tourist trail from Dresden to Saxon Switzerland and Bohemian Switzerland. The route is officially divided into 5 stages, which can of course be customised. Passing the famous rock formations of Saxon Switzerland, caves, magnificent viewpoints, waterfalls, adventurous staircases and much more, the route has a lot to offer.
