Beautiful circular route in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve, Saarland.
The hike always leads through the forest, offering cooling shade in summer. It leads to the legendary "Frauenbrunnen" ("Women's well"), a spring that was probably visited by Celts, Romans and knights! Bizarre, weather-washed rock formations also create a particularly mythical atmosphere.
The start is at the car park at the Naturfreundehaus in Kirkel. Stopping off here after the walk is possible. The hike is signposted throughout and mostly leads along natural and gravelled paths.
