This beautiful circular hike through the Palatinate Forest is located just a few kilometres south of Kaiserlautern. The starting point is the hikers' car park in Hirtenstraße in Dansenberg (playground right next to the car park). The tour can also be reached by bus and train (e.g. "Dansenberg Brunnenstraße" stop). From here, you first walk to the hunting lodge and then in a westerly direction to Espensteig. The route can be shortened at the Rambachbrunnen fountain.
