Steadily past the racetrack and the popular spectator points Brünnchen and Pflanzengarten, the route continues through the high-altitude town of Nürburg. It is worth detouring the Nürburg castle ruins, which lure you in from the keep with a magnificent panoramic view over the Eifel and allow you to take a deep breath. From Nürburg, it goes rapidly downhill through the Hatzenbach, past the Schwedenkreuz, and along the Fuchsrohr to the Adenauer Forest.
