Felsenwald Trail

Varied premium hiking trail in the Palatinate Forest, Rhineland-Palatinate. In the forests, you will come across interesting rock formations again and again. The circular hike starts at the ice pond, which is located on Landauer Straße near the municipal hospital. From there, the route leads to the anvil rock and on to the "Platte" car park. Here you follow the sign to Waldhaus Starkenbrunnen on a natural path gently downhill and, once in the valley, number 5. A somewhat steeper incline leads to the Kanzelfelsen, a rock formation. After the descent into the valley, you can take a break at the Waldhaus Starkenbrunnen, if it is open. Continue along the red and yellow bar and you will come to the Beckenhof forester's lodge with its wide range of catering options. From there, the forest path turns into a path and you reach the striking rock gate. Further on, at a crossroads, the path loops in a northerly direction. Here you choose the small, slightly ascending nature trail. This loop leads to impressive rocks, the Luitpoldfelsen, Gebrochener Felsen and the Schillerwand. Before descending into the Glastal valley, the trail makes a detour in a westerly direction. Following the red Nordic walking markings, you return to the familiar path at the Luitpoldfelsen. You pass the Waltharibrünnchen, a spring, and reach the Eisweiher again via the Ambossfelsen.
